Well, I Should Do as I Say, Not as I Do

How long ago did I say it would be foolish to be out between 1000 and 1600?

Well on the walk I just finished...I lost at least 3 pounds.  It's currently 1230.  When I left, by pure chance I weighed myself.  100.6KG.  I walked too much.

During the walk, if in the infernally bright and hot sun I stopped for a delicious drink.  Quince, Apple, Lemonade and Jasmine Tea.  With a slice of dried apple added.  Refreshing.

Then I bought 1.5L of cold bottled water.  And, walked on.  I thought I could follow the coast, turn up river and find a way to the hotel.  I stopped for a few pics.  I was drinking water "not slowly nor intermittently"

The water is very brackish.  I believe it is related to silt and tannins from the estuary.

In the process, my regular and very beloved glasses fell out of my pocket covertly. I kept walking and found, nope could not go that way.  Half way back up the sandy path I realized I was missing my non-sunglasses.

Shit.

Think.

Oh, setting the water bottle down to take the pics!!! Damn, that was a long way back.  But, logic and luck prevailed.

Then a long way back.  With a stop at an amazing local fish market.  No pics.  Sorry.  Maybe later.  I was hoping the fish mongering would be literally cool with all the ice needed. Nope, it was in low gear at noon.

Wobble the last 5 minutes to the hotel.

Shower.

Hit the scale: 100.6.

1.5L * 1KG/L * 2.2Pounds/L  (check units, they work...ok, I can still do 1973 math.) = 3.3 pounds in and out during the effort.  Oh, wait, I stepped off the trail twice.  Let's call it 4 pounds.

No, no, no, do not repeat this Jim!

A little tingle on the neck and ears meant I chose the cooler but smaller hat unadvisedly.

The mistake: assuming a cloudy breezy morning would hold for a few hours.  I swear I checked the skies.  Life moves slowly here; the clouds do not.

After watching a little, but not enough (VPN issues!), I grabbed some decent Mee goreng for lunch.

I have a lot to add.  But I am absolutely knackered.  Maybe later.
