The coins in Malaysia suck (not an original post)

And about the penny to Andrew Sullivan, years ago.  When he was readable.

The Offenders.  Not the "accused."
They are guilty.  Summary judgement was rendered long ago.

A great summary of their crimes.

NB, the 5 Sens issue is very real.  It is the worst of the crimes.

I have kept every coin since the 1st week of the trip.  I just collect  them from my pockets everytime I enter the room.  Easy peasy.
If there is $2 (RM 8ish) in there, I'd be stunned.

Canada has done away with the penny.  The USA should too.

Malaysia, if it's gonna have coins, drop the 'nickel' now.

I propose an international coin limits:

Four coins total; potential to make 1 unit of paper currency with four coins or less.  For instance {10, 20, 30, 70} Sen coins.  2 coins to make any denomination of 10 Sen up to RM 1.

If you have a 'nickel', at least one other coin value must end in a "5" - so the USA could be {Nickel, Dime, Quarter, Half Dollar}.

Wouldn't you rather keep the useless $0.50 piece and dump the penny?  I would.  Round to the nickel for a year and then multiple of $0.05 for prices.Yes, it might be momentarily inflative, but it's still worth it.
