Found it...!

 (L to R)

Beef rendang (spicy stewed beef)

Nasi Lamak - top to bottom:
* Cucumber slices
* Boiled Egg
* "Fatty Rice" - cooked with coconut milk
* Peanuts
* Fried Anchovies

Sambal

VERY good.  Especially the rendang.

Did not have room for all of it yet.  Baby steps.

And, a big ass smile too.

You forgot to mention the beef in in the list. Regardless, so jealous...and now salivating, again.

Nope. I called it beef rendang. No editing nor correction needed.

Also, as I have learned (happily and without struggle), if it's "meat but not pork or chicken, it's not always beef here.

It might be beef, it might be goat, or it might be lamb/sheep. Boiled long enough they all look the same - stringy brown, grey, red. Cover with a variety of spicy mystery sauces, curries, and gravies and it doesn't matter.

The goat versus sheep issue is because locally both are "mutton." In the US, mutton almost implies sheep (even versus "lamb.") You get tricked into eating goat by having renamed "cat." in Ohio.

They're all good.
