Packing Ideas
+ Styptic pencil (nicked an artery shaving - who knew one could? - 5 hours of bleeding. They have no idea what one is in Quito.)
+ Kindle (I miss reading.)
+ Earbuds (long sleepless flights suck.)
+ Crystal Lite Packets (water is dull.)
+ Camping utensils (Too many bad plastic utensils in market food courts.)
+ Better Luggage (travel backpack is a go; sling for daytime wear is better than a small backpack if sans camera gear. 3l may be OK - carrying layers and can serve as 'personal item' aboard flights.)
- Big ass battery pack (heavy and useless.)

Who needs clothes anyway?
Eating with fingers will be fine some places. But when you've been out and about and touching things all day I think you're going to actually just stick with the plastic crap they have for now. But the next is it I can probably spare 40 bucks for a good set weighs about it out it is easy to carry all day.
There are parts of the day where I am absolutely wishing it could be naked because I'm dripping with sweat from having walked up the hill. But might get to the bottom of the hill or later on when the rain comes I'm throwing layer after layer on. The climate here is such that nobody has a heater or air conditioning. You just got to roll with it. And I'm good with that, I packed well.
I have three Kindles sitting at home it's not about buying a new one it's about finding the old ones. It would be nice to be able to sit in the park and just pass the time reading on those days when I don't want to move around a lot.
